Congratulations you survived the hectic move-in day, meeting your roommate, and saying goodbye to your parents. Now what? Should you go explore your campus or stay in? Check out our to-do list on everything you need to do on the first day of college.
A list Of Things You Should Do Leading Up To The First Day Of College:
1. Organize Your Room
Your parents left your boxes of clothes and school supplies laying around your room. The first step is to unpack the boxes and find places for them.
Pro-tip – you will most likely have to run to the store to grab a few things. Prepare for that.
2. Socialize With Your Roommate
Most college students do not know their roommates and often only know what they look like. This needs to be on the to-do list.
Our first friends in college are our roommates. You end up going to the dining hall with them or meeting people with them.

3. Attend The Events
Your campus host numerous events for freshman that are designed for you to explore your campus and meet people. Use these to your advantage. Yes, it can be scary, but you will survive and end up meeting so many people.
4. Walk Your Class Schedule
The last thing you want to do is show up to your class late because you walk to the opposite side of campus. This will give you enough time to prepare yourself and reduce stress on the first day of college.
5. Look Through Your Syllabus
SO MANY professors hide stuff in their syllabus. One of my friends had a professor say in their syllabus to email him that they read the syllabus and received extra credit points.
The syllabus is also great for preparing you for class. You learn about their rules, and grading points and most professors post when tests will be.
6. Get Your First Day Outfit Ready
This used to be a big deal to me. I would stress for a full day before classes worrying about what outfit to wear. Remove that stress on yourself the morning of classes and have it all picked out.
7. Plan Your Goals For The Semester
Writing down goals is a great way to keep yourself accountable and remind yourself what you wanted at the beginning of the school year. You can look at these when you are feeling unmotivated or need a little push to start your homework.
8. Look Into Clubs
Depending on the number of students at your school, there will be numerous of clubs to join. Take the time you have now before classes start and look into what clubs you want to join.
